This is how you set your UV dose limits in the sun-a-wear app

You are here:

The sun-a-wear app allows you to set a daily UV dose limit that you do not want to exceed. Your maximum daily dose. If you have connected several sensors to the sun-a-wear app, you can set a separate limit for each sun-a-wear sensor. Where do you set this limit for yourself is not an easy question. It depends on how you want to protect yourself, what your history is (for example, whether you have skin cancer) and how sensitive the skin is.

The sun-a-wear app helps you with two simple questions to find the first clues for a UV dose limit that makes sense for you. If you answer the questions, the app suggests a UV dose limit that corresponds to the mean expected sunburn dose. We advise you to proceed as follows:

  • Answer the two questions the sun-a-wear app asks you when adding the sensor. Then the app will show you an estimate of your skin type and the sunburn dose associated with that estimate.
  • Adjust your dose: If you want to be more careful, adjust the limit downwards.
  • Use sun-a-wear for a while. Then you will get a feel for whether you should adjust your limit up or down.
