Data protection at sun-a-wear: This is how we handle your data

You are here:

At sun-a-wear, we take data protection very seriously. We therefore want to communicate transparently which data we save where and how and what happens to it. If you have any questions, please write to us an email.

  • We transfer and save all data according to the latest encryption standards.
  • We store data that the sun-a-wear app sends to our server in Zurich, CH.
  • We keep data protection high at sun-a-wear and deliberately refrain from collecting personal data from our users. It is not possible to identify a person with the data that we store. Therefore the sun-a-wear app does not collect full names or email addresses. The app sends the name you enter when adding a sun-a-wear sensor to our server with the measurement data. Its main purpose is so that you can tell the sensors apart. You can monitor up to 4 sensors with the sun-a-wear app. You get confused quickly. We recommend using your first name or nickname, but you can use any imaginary name as well.
  • The sun-a-wear app first saves the measurement data received from the sensor locally on your smartphone. The app sporadically sends the data to our server. It is important for us to be able to collect this anonymous UV data in order to improve sun-a-wear and better understand the effects of UV radiation.
  • When you install the app, it generates a random number code. She uses this so that our server recognizes the app. This data will be deleted during a new installation. The app and server then no longer know who you are and can therefore no longer display historical UV data. We are working on offering such a recovery function on the most anonymous basis possible.
  • The app calls up your location every few hours in order to be able to show you a current UV forecast. It does this even when the app is in the background. This location data is only saved on your phone and is never sent to our servers.
  • We are constantly developing sun-a-wear and will be adding great new features. To this end, the type and processing of the data collected will likely change. However, we will not force anyone to provide personal information and continue to transparently communicate what we are doing.
